4 Hair Myths About Your Hair That Are Not True

4 Hair Myths About Your Hair That Are Not True

We have all heard those hair myths that seem like they would work but there is no real proof that they do. We hear them often in the salon and thought it would be useful to list our top 5 hair myths!

Wash Your Hair Everyday, The More Product The Better…

This is absolutely not TRUE! Our hair has natural ways of staying healthy and strong. Using too much product and washing it has been proven to damage and break all hair types. Depending on your hair type you should do a full shampoo and conditioner 2-3 times a week max. The most important thing to remember when you wash is to rinse thoroughly and always massage your scalp as this helps with the health of your hair follicles.

Using The Same Hair Products Can Lose Their Effectiveness On Your Hair…

This is another one that is often said but is not true. Yes, it can take time to find the right combination for your hair but once you find what works it has no reason to lose its effectiveness. Sometimes we get bored with using the same products and want to switch it up. There is nothing wrong with this and it is often fun but never think that the products you use are not going to keep working.

Split Ends Can Be Repaired…

We have all seen the products out there that claim they can fix and repair our split ends. Once a hair is split and damaged there is nothing that is going to repair it enough that is in a product. The one and only way to repair a split end is to cut it! This way your hair has the opportunity to grow back stronger and faster than ever.

Pulling Grey Hairs Make More Grow Back…

We are so thankful this isn’t true! It has been proven that pulling a grey hair out can actually damage the your hair follicle and cause issues with that hair growing back. So pull away and remember that grey hair is genetic and whether you pull it or not they are going to grow. This is why hair color is your best friend!
